As the real estate industry undergoes significant transformation driven by technology, artificial intelligence, and new legal pressures, C.A.R. remains committed to helping members adapt while safeguarding the interests of clients and the profession. President Tamara Suminski highlights the recent success of C.A.R.’s Legislative Day, where over 2,000 members engaged with lawmakers to advocate for policies that address housing supply and affordability. A central focus of this year’s advocacy is the “California Middle-Class Homeownership and Family Home Construction Act of 2026,” a proposed ballot initiative designed to bridge the homeownership gap for middle-income families through a $25 billion revenue bond program. Beyond this, C.A.R. continues its work on industry-specific legislation, including support for SB 1238 to enhance HOA disclosures and opposition to measures like AB 1406, which would impact new construction transactions. Through ongoing town halls and legislative recaps, the association continues to provide members with the information and tools needed to navigate these shifting market conditions effectively.
